Below are what introverts expect from their partners in a relationship;

1. Don’t try to change or tailor them

Just like extroverts, introverted personality traits are innate so try as much as you can not to judge what and how they do their things or change their personality, instead, appreciate how they go about their things. Just let your introvert partner be who they are.

2. Respect their needs and preferences

Introverts sometimes need space or alone time to reflect and charge their energy so if you see that in them, please don’t take it too personally because that is what they're made of. Doing so does not mean they are mad or trying to push you away. They just need some time to be in solitude and when they are back you will see they are fully charged for you.

3. Spend some quality time with them

Introverts may love to be in solitude most of the time but that shouldn’t be a reason to rob them of the quality time you spend with them. Have a meaningful conversation with them. Ask open-ended questions instead of questions that result in a single answer.

It's not always about how long the time you spent with them is but what happened during the time spent together. Create a strong bonding experience during these times spent together.

4. They Prefer Less Stimulating Environment.

Introverts enjoy spending time in a much lesser stimulating environment. They prefer small gathering to big social events. If you take them out on a date make sure you take them to a less crowded area.

5. Don't try to read their minds.

It is a bad idea to interpret the silence of an introvert. You may get it all wrong when you try to decode the reason behind their silence. Introverts do not always want to spend some time in solitude all because something is bothering them but most of the time, they simply want to recharge their energy.

If you're positive that something is wrong with your introverted partner, it's better to ask what's going on instead of assuming what's wrong with them. Never substitute good communication with mind-reading.

6. Don't engage them in Public Display of Affection (PDA)

You can have all the affectionate love gestures under the sun with your introverted lover but to practice that in the public, most introverts would not buy that. PDA comes with a lot of attention and most introverts don't like to be at the centre of attention. They don't want to be the topic of conversation in peoples household.

To have a smooth relationship with your introverted partner you should not try to change them but instead appreciate them, respect their needs and preferences, spend some quality time with them, they prefer less stimulating environment to overcrowded area, don't try to read their minds and also don't engage them in Public Display of Affection.
